About Steve
Steve's business of marketing software picked up a bit this year. He still enjoys working
in his home office, mainly over the web, with the incredibly flexibility it allows (NO, I
don't work in my pajamas).
This flexibility does allow Steve to exercise quite a bit. He did a number of 1/2 marathon trail runs this year, biked occasionally, and started swimming laps this fall. He's not quite back down to his college weight, but he's much closer than he was a few years ago.
Community projects and an introduction to real estate investment absorbed some of Steve's time this year as well.
One particular home project ended up taking a lot more time than expected -- most of the year -- but came out very well. With the help of one incredible craftsman and a bunch of supporting resources, we finally got around to finishing our dining room. This involved several false starts and a surprising number of detailed design decisions. Pictured below is one of the main new components: a custom wall unit with glass shelves, a sink, and hidden dishwasher, all put together with incredible workmanship.

Other projects included an addition to the deck to cover an old sandbox and provide a place for plants. Steve got some great help from his dad on that one..

And after several years of progress Steve finally finished clearing out a huge hedge of Oleander, adding about 2000 square feet to the back yard!

After which he really needed a good jump in the lake...

Steve was lucky enough to be able to spend lots of time with his dependents...

As well as some more good times with his best friend.
