About Eric
Eric had a big year! Most notably, he married the lovely Marta
Martinez on January 24, 2025 in Sion, Switzerland!
They had a small legal ceremony (and a raclette feast)
with friends and family.
After the wedding Marta and Eric continued to lean into their "adulting" phase:
they bought a nice (used) car, moved into a slightly bigger apartment on the outskirts of Geneva,
and adopted a wonderful little dog named Luna!
It's now been a little over a year since Eric moved to Switzerland. He misses his family and friends back in California, but has been enjoying the change of culture from the Bay Area.
The old adage about Americans "living to work" vs. "working to live" rings somewhat true.
He still can't speak French, but is starting to understand the basics!
Eric still works for Zipline, mostly remote, from Geneva. The year has been quite a frustrating one at work (lots of changes, not all good), but there is renewed hope for the future of Zipline's medical delivery drones thanks to a $150m grant from the US Government. Eric's hoping this will finally allow them to "fix" some of the big issues with it, but we'll see how that goes...

They are living in Geneva but plan to celebrate their wedding again,
with more California friends, in April 2026.

Who is great at riding in Cargo bikes
Eric also completed a very long endurance
bike-packing race called the Hope 1000
It was beautiful!

He got tired and slept in fields with cows
And reunited with his family after 8 days
And he still loves to bike everywhere.
He & Marta visited California several times
And enjoyed some Sierras
They spent lots of quality time with friends and family throughout the year
