About Steve

Amtrak'd to a mini family reunion in St Louis. Got to know a cool new high school mentee.

Steve continues to focus on the challenge of climate change.
Through HEA, helping thousands of PG&E customers reduce their bills & carbon footprint;
Advocating state-wide to speed up electrification efforts (heat pumps, EVs, induction cooktops);
Orchestrating local environmentalists to stop a big fossil fuel project nearby;
And continuing to install new clean energy gadgets in his home.

But he's definitely slowing down.
He started taking statins this year, did a lot fewer long runs and bike rides,
and occasionally even talked about retirement.

In January he did a TedX Talk:
Living Rich on a Tiny Carbon Footprint

Participated in lots of gatherings and discussions about energy & climate change

Spent time as Second Lieutenant of
the amazing Useless Car

Even driving it unsupervised at times

He also took on a cool new high school
mentee from Mountain View

who quickly decided to become
a master cyclist

He got to see the total "annular" eclipse in October and helped plan for the upcoming Eclipse party (April 8th 2024)

Steve is in charge of toilets, the big tent,
several viewing platforms (aka tree forts),
and the chainsaw tree

Still bikes occasionally...

...and doing trail runs in the rain
(whenever possible)

He traveled cross country by train

to go to Prom with his sisters and mom!

He practiced napping after helping Tim...

...and also sometimes after wearing out Sealy

Steve had many more great opportunities to exercise, play, eat, and drink very well...

And best of all, spent a whole 'nother year with his favorite elected official.
