About Steve

Steve continues to focus on climate change.
He was described as a "Climate Crusader" in a wonderful blog written about him here

In 2024, through HEA, he helped over 10,000 PG&E customers reduce their
energy use, their bills, and their carbon footprints.
(HEA is comprised of about a dozen highly talented & productive collaborators)

Steve also advocated locally and state-wide to speed up electrification efforts
(more heat pumps, EVs, and induction cooktops, stat)

And continued trying out new clean energy gadgets at home
(including new 120v heat pump water heater & Ephoca heat pump)

Health wise, he's still running & biking, and feeling stronger this year after discovering
and fixing a problem with his low carbon mostly vegetarian diet (protein deficiency).

Steve got to spend lots of time outside

...often driving his Tesla around the US

He did lots of projects at Big Dog Ranch to prepare for the Eclipse party

Which meant he got to spend a lot of time
playing with fun equipment

And even fun optics, while helping
the resident rocket scientist

He made the best Eclipse viewing platform on the tallest tree on top of the hill

Updated the microgrid for the trailer...

...and rebuilt the tongue box he'd made for it

Helped the town acquire, assemble and debug another small microgrid (solar panels plus storage, disconnected from the power grid)

Resulting in the Haven Solar Picnic Table
and Charging Station

Completely rebuilt an outdoor table
he'd build 20 years ago

While at the ranch, Steve helped a rancher vaccinate, tag, and castrate some 3 month old calves born on the property. He no longer wants to be a cowboy when he grows up

Got to reconnect with lots of friends...

...even some long lost Texans

Lisa joined him on many Tesla trips, including one with the trailer to the San Juan Islands

Where he got to build sand sculptures

He visited with family in Saint Louis.

And hosted cousin Doug & son JD

And 2nd Cousin Emily

And mentee Alejandro

Steve's college buddy tells him to "just keep moving". So he does!

He continued his role as Sealy's
2nd support human

A role he takes very seriously

And best of all, spent a whole 'nother year with his favorite person.
