A while back we'd describe Justine as a bit shy and timid (especially compared to her
brother!), with a small group of good friends. Well, this appears to be changing fast. In
2003 she showed us that she can be an outgoing world-traveler who is comfortable meeting
new friends and with growing self-confidence.
Justine with some of her friends from school at the San Francisco Zoo.
She's taking a creative writing class at school and has found she loves writing poems.
Here's an example:

More peas than pods.
More apples than apple trees.
More leaves than plants.
More people than me.
Liana is still one of her best friends, shown here after a dance performance in June.
Liana and Justine have now been in the same class 4 years in a row!
Justine loved our travels through Scandanavia and parts of Europe this summer. She
really liked all the red rooftops in Prague, shown here.
She and her brother were great travel companions, shown in their beds on board a huge
Scandanavian ferry. Justine loved the overnight boat rides we went on.
Like her brother she also continues to love skiing in the winter and water sports in the
summer.
We had a great time at Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen. This was Justine's first time at an
amusement park, and she loved the ferris wheel.
Mom's still her best friend, but Sirius is much adored too. Justine has convinced the
puppy that she's the "alpha" in our group, so he listens to her best. It's a
good thing too, because he'll probably outweigh her in a few short months.
