About Justine

• Justine is now 11, and broke the 5 foot barrier this year.
   
• Here she is in a rain forest in Belize, where she sampled the local termites ("Taste like pepper").

• She loves to help mom in the kitchen, but also has some outdoor chores.
   
• She has continued piano lessons and plays the clarinet for school.

• For the 3rd year, Justine and her brother competed in a local triathlon. Her best time for a mile is 8:09.
   
• She loves skiing with her family, and this year went down her first double-black diamond run ("The Wall" at Kirkwood). She has the shirt to prove it.

• She still loves dance (Irish Tap).
   
• Left and below: Here she is on a driving trip to Death Valley, Mono Lake & Sequoia National Park.

• New braces this year!

• Here she is all pretty for her promotion from Nixon Elementary School.
   
• At school she still likes math & reading best. Her teachers say she's a great student.

• As an Imperial Chinese Princess at the Summer Palace in Beijing.

• At left: With the Chinese pen pals she met this summer.
   
• Below Left: She got to hug a Giant Panda bear on her birthday.
   
• Below: On her spunky little horse Bonita, at a dude ranch in Arizona over Thanksgiving. They bonded.
  

• In Fairbanks on the Winter Solstice she saw an aurora and got to hold a frozen soap bubble at 20 below (F).
  
  It was still dark there at 10:30am!
