About Justine

Justine traveled more than any of the rest of us this year!

Below, she went on hiking trips to Sequoia National Park and to the top of Mount Tamalpais.

She and her dog Shuma also spent 5 weeks of the summer in Alaska
visiting her Aunt Anne and Uncle Don in Fairbanks.

While there she spent lots of time in the great outdoors (lots of daylight!) and helped Anne with lots of projects at the Alaskan Bird Observatory.

Here she is (at right) providing scale for a burl,

and (below) testing the softness of local tundra.

She got to do some kayaking down near Monterey.

She really enjoys the deserts, and other scenic places that are out-of-the-way and not crowded with tourists.

While at home she sewed some new clothes, and made a cool dress form from duct tape...
 

Did more dance this year as well,   
including Irish Tap and Lyrical styles.   

Learned how to Scuba in a class with her mom

Perfected her cross country skiing skills...

Continues to enjoy baby sitting for some
really cute kids... and gets paid for it too.

Cooks with her mom and with friends.

Finally, she loved her dog Shuma.

Shuma gets really sad when she's not around.

(He was born to be a companion dog and
Justine is his companion person.)
