About Eric

Eric is now a Junior at the University of California at Davis. He quit the crew team and has moved into a giant house with 14 good friends, greatly improving his social life, which makes him very happy.

The house Eric lives in is called "The Turtle House" (see the turtle on the 2nd floor balcony below).
They have had a couple of parties (including a Halloween one, pictured below, where Eric was a suitcase) which have been big hits at Davis.
They have also done a few home improvement projects, including a picket fence and a chicken coop.

He also generally had more fun this year without crew taking up all his time.
He danced in a play on Angel Island...

...biked from Davis to the beach (over 100 miles) and was spotted leaping off sand banks near Sea Ranch.

Eric worked at Ekso Bionics this summer, a startup in Richmond making bionic legs for paraplegics.
While there, Eric redesigned the hip width adjustment mechanism, which turned out to be a
great success and is now in the production version.

He returned to the Burning Man festival this summer with four friends and they made quite the caravan.
They brought "The Trike", along with 6 other human-powered vehicles.

The most exciting Burning Man vehicle, though,
was Eric's ingenious new Land Rower.
(Watch the video here.)

He spent many hours designing and piecing
together a bike, a rowing machine, and a boat.
The resulting vehicle was much appreciated at Burning Man and gained a lot of attention.

He has already started planning for next year:
after Fall finals he and a friend bought a 1992 diesel school bus in Idaho and drove it back.

He also has a whole fleet of bikes:
seven and counting!

He is always on the look out for exciting new outfits. Everything from Mom's old ski outfit...

...to a Mongolian wrestling outfit purchased
for him by his loving sister.
