About Steve

Steve's four year old startup (when is it no longer a startup?) continues to focus on
smart meter analysis for residential energy efficiency. This business effort meshes very well with Steve's concerns about climate change.

Lots of progress in 2012: two major contracts were completed with excellent results, and two new contracts were won right at the end of the year -- and the new ones don't involve any stimulus funds.

The company is still quite lean: Lisa and Steve are the only full time employees, but another dozen or so part time contractors provide critical expertise. We are currently the leaders in the field of residential smart meter data analysis, having analyzed over 1600 homes, and we hope to stay there.

This effort took up most of Steve's time & energy during 2012. Below are a few other highlights.

Steve had to recall how to tie a tie during a visit to a White House event related to smart meter data analysis. But if the new company doesn't work out he's still keeping his other career option open: he got to try out his truck driving skills this summer, and Eric let him drive his new school bus in December.

He got to spend time with his parents and both
sisters who visited us in the Spring.
What a happy family!

And during their visit he roped them into helping with his most recent art project: the CD mobile.

He cut down trees in Lampasas with Eric...

And did a "Color Me Rad" run with Justine. Below is the "before" picture; here is the "after" picture.

Steve kept active this year and still runs, bikes, hikes, fixes things and -- only occasionally -- gets on a horse.
