About Lisa

Lisa's biggest activity this year was breaking her ankle in late May.  :-(
This was her first broken bone, and she really did an excellent job messing it up. We've made up lots of good stories about how it happened, but the truth is pretty boring: she stumbled while stepping over a low cable, hopped to regain balance, landed badly and heard it crunch!
For 12 weeks she was in a cast and rather disabled.
Luckily Shuma has training as a companion dog.

<==  Technically she dislocated her ankle and broke her fibula. They had the dickens of a time trying to get everything back into the right position at the emergency room.

She got some nice new hardware to help keep everything together: a plate and seven screws.

After 12 weeks the big long screw was removed and we now have it as a memento.

On the good side she got some great
reading time out of it.

She took a class on Ulysses and really enjoyed the analysis and discussions,  even though she didn't much like the book.  =>

She's now back to running already and even did a 12k run around Angel Island with some friends.

She took good care of the entire family (people, dogs and fish)
and also got time with some other four legged friends...

She spent time with her mother,
who dropped everything and immediately
came out to take care of her
when she broke her ankle.

(This was even more appreciated by Steve & Justine.)

And kept us fed one more year with amazing new dishes.

Finally, she continues to support Steve,
who needs more and more support every year.
