About Eric |
|
| Eric graduated from UC Davis in June
with a bachelors in Mechanical Engineering.
He thinks he may be done with school forever; his parents are very happy he stuck it out. He does miss all the college camaraderie, but enjoys his current gig at Google even more. |

He spent a large majority of the year on bikes after joining the UC Davis cycling team. He completed over a dozen races and won two, including his longest race (80 miles) in Reno. He doesn't brag, but he finished this race way ahead of anyone else. ![]() |
Then he spent two weeks after graduation biking from
Vancouver Island, Canada, down to Humboldt, CA. He ate lots
of food, met lots of nice strangers, and discovered that
1000 miles of bike camping was enough. So he was not upset
to have his dad join him in Southern Oregon for the last 300 miles. ![]() |

In August Eric attended his fourth Burning Man festival, the second with his bus. As shown below, it was loaded to the brim. He and his bus have no plans of ending the tradition of transporting fellow burners to Black Rock City. |
The bus (not yet
named!) was busy this year with trips to Bishop, Black
Rock Desert, many cycling races, and most recently on a
tour of south eastern California (see Family page for more
details) |

He started his first big boy job at Google in July. He is helping with their long term vision to take [bad] drivers off the road and replace them with small, slow, expensive, bubble-shaped cars. He likes it. ![]() |

Eric skated through his final classes
doing as little work as possible... while still |

He showed his sister the one big hill near Davis over her spring break. |

| Eric's life trajectory is wonderfully uncertain; we have no idea where he'll be in a year, but we look forward to finding out! |
