About Steve

Steve spent a third year building his small startup company focused on residential energy efficiency.

Funded by federal stimulus grants targeting energy efficiency, and powered by an international team of software experts, web designers, a local non-profit, staff from participating towns, and partner Lisa, the company started rolling out the new service to six local communities in the Bay Area last Spring.
There's lots of work left to do, but results so far look promising.

This effort took up most of Steve's time & energy during 2011. Other highlights below.

Steve bikes around town whenever possible. He and some friends also did a 70-mile ride around
Lake Tahoe (left) and he and Lisa went to Colorado and Utah to go riding (right, at Monument Valley).

He also runs a lot, mostly on trails, and now occasionally barefoot.
Here he is running in the snow at Tahoe (luckily he still had his five-finger shoes on).

He turned 50 but that did not stop him from trying
to keep up with Eric. He got to try rowing again
over the summer. Here he is in a UC Davis
boat with Eric on parent's weekend.

He loves to play with the dogs. Sirius is still his favorite running buddy, but Shuma occasionally
joins them too.

He tried fixing lots of things around the house,
from a water leak to Eric's SuperCharger.

He joined Lisa on a hiking trip through the High Sierras this summer. He brought the wine.

He also spent lots of time with many great friends this year, at reunions,
running/biking trips and a whole bunch of 50th birthday parties.

And throughout the year he managed to take breaks from trying to
save the environment to go out and enjoy it.
